How this site sources its material

PassageBoats is a research archive. Its purpose is to keep useful knowledge about offshore sailboats available to sailors after the original sources went offline. Boat histories and assessments are compiled from archived websites, published books, sailing magazines, race records, and owner communities. Wherever possible, each boat page lists its sources, and reference pages credit the original authors and publications directly, including links to archived copies of the original material.

This site is non-commercial in intent: there is no charge for access. Book links may carry an affiliate tag, which supports hosting costs and sends readers to the original works rather than away from them.

If you hold rights to something published here

If you are an author, photographer, publisher, or site owner and believe content on PassageBoats reproduces your work beyond fair use, we want to hear from you. No legal formalities are required for a first contact.

Email takedown@passageboats.com with:

• The URL of the page on this site
• What material you hold rights to (text, image, or both)
• A way to verify you are the rights holder, or a statement to that effect

Requests are reviewed promptly. If a claim checks out, the material is removed or rewritten, and attribution is corrected where that is the better fix. If you would rather the material stay up with proper credit and a link, say so; that is often the outcome rights holders prefer.
