The Bowman 46 Corsair, also called the Bowman Corsair, is a Holman & Pye design first built in 1972 by Bowman Yachts.
Design and Construction
She is 46 ft overall on a 31.96 ft waterline, with 12.92 ft of beam and 7 ft of draft. Displacement is 23,500 lb, and the masthead sloop carries about 720 sq ft of sail. A yawl rig with about 814 sq ft was also offered, as was a keel/centerboard version drawing 5.5 ft with the board up and 10.5 ft down. The rudder hangs on a skeg.
Buyers Notes
John Neal rates the Bowman range 2 of 5: strong, good passage makers, but short on waterline and now old. This hull has a particularly short waterline for its length.
