Overview
The Cooper 508 is a Stan Huntingford pilothouse sloop built by Cooper Enterprises in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, from 1981. Only five were completed.
Design and Construction
It has a fin keel and a skeg-hung rudder, 50.67 ft overall on a 44 ft waterline, 15 ft of beam and 8 ft of draft. Displacement is 38,350 lb with 16,500 lb of ballast, and the double-spreader masthead sloop carries about 1,239 sq ft. A center wheelhouse holds an inside steering station, the navigation station and a dinette, and the boat sleeps seven with two heads.
Buyers Notes
John Neal rates it 3 of 5 and calls it roomy, fairly well built and reasonably priced, a good Pacific Northwest design with inside steering.
Production ended after five boats because of a legal dispute.
