Overview
The Oceanis 42 CC, listed as the Beneteau 42 CC, is a Groupe Finot design built by Beneteau from 2003 to 2007. It is a cutter-rigged wing-keel cruiser with a center cockpit.
Design and Construction
Overall length is 43.42 ft on a 36.33 ft waterline, with 12.83 ft of beam and 5.92 ft of draft. Displacement is 19,845 lb with 5,556 lb of ballast, about 28 percent. The hull is fiberglass and the wing keel keeps draft modest. A 56 hp Volvo diesel is listed, with 63 gallons of fuel and 154 gallons of water. Reported sail area is 878 sq ft.
Buyers Notes
John Neal lists the Beneteau 42CC without a star figure, grouping it with the 423, 473 and other CC models. His note is that they are solid values as long as one does not run aground, and that they do not tend to have the steering system problems he associates with Jeanneau. The boat was popular in the charter trade, so expect heavy use in the history of any given hull.
