Overview
The Dufour 41 is a Michel Dufour design built in France, first built in 1971. It is a masthead sloop with a fin keel and skeg-hung rudder, and it was also offered as a ketch.
Design and Construction
Overall length is 41.0 ft on a 32.0 ft waterline, with 12.33 ft of beam and 5.75 ft of draft. Displacement is 19,400 lb with 7,800 lb of ballast, about 40 percent. The hull is fiberglass. A 41 hp Perkins 4-107 diesel is listed, with 65 gallons of fuel and 78 gallons of water. Reported sail area is 685 sq ft.
Buyers Notes
John Neal rates the Dufour 35-45 range 2 of 5. He says the 1964-84 boats had solid hulls and balsa-cored decks, and that later models were not brilliant. A deck core survey for wet balsa is the first job on a boat of this age.
