Overview
The Sweden Yachts 41 is a Swedish fiberglass sloop by Peter Norlin and Jens Östmann. It was built from 1981 to 1994, 39 boats in all.
Design and Construction
The hull is fiberglass with a fin keel and a spade rudder. It measures 41.0 ft overall on a 32.67 ft waterline, with 12.75 ft of beam and 7.34 ft of draft. Displacement is 18,740 lb, with 8,150 lb of ballast (43.49 percent). It is rigged as a masthead sloop, and the auxiliary is a 48 hp Volvo Penta MD22 diesel. Tankage is listed as 40 gals of fuel and 85 gals of water.
Buyers Notes
John Neal rates every Sweden Yachts model 2 of 5, describing them as racer-cruisers that are short on tankage and storage and have had rudder loss issues. Anyone considering one for offshore work should check the rudder stock and bearings closely and plan carefully for water, fuel and stowage.
